The hottest Sunday afternoon event in town returns with a Carnival party that is not to be missed! Carnival is annual celebration of life found in many countries around the world. The Dominican Carnival is one of the most colorful traditions and more cheerful festivities in the Dominican Republic. Important to Caribbean festival arts are the ancient African traditions of parading and moving in circles through villages in costumes and masks. Carnival traditions also borrow from the African tradition of putting together natural objects (bones, grasses, beads, shells, fabric) to create a piece of sculpture, a mask, or costume — with each object or combination of objects representing a certain idea or spiritual force. To capture the essence of this joyous celebration, there was only one choice; our brother, José Marquez.

Los Angeles DJ/Producer José Marquez’s musical influence is a result of being brought up on a stable diet of Latin and world music. Always intrigued by electronic dance music, José’s mission has been to fuse his love of world rhythms with the dance floor. José indeed succeeded when he burst onto the scene in 2010 with memorable remixes & edits such as Celia Cruz – Elegua, Nina Simone – Black Bird, and many other. In less than two years time, José was blessed with the opportunity to introduce his sound to the world by remixing for renowned house music labels such as Tribe Records, Djoon Experience, Vega/Nulu Records, United Music, Yoruba Records, Wonderwheel and Deeper Shades Recordings.
